The World Environment Day was observed on Monday the 5th June 2017 at 9.30 a.m. at Carmel Convent School, 4th 'T' Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore 560 041. Sister Sadhana, Headmistress of the School welcomed the gathering. Smt. V. Manjula, I.A.S. Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Medical Education Department, Bangalore, was the Chief Guest and planted the saplings at the school premises and addressed the children. In her address, she highlighted the importance of trees and requested all the children to plant, nurture and protect the saplings in and around their environment which will go a long way in protecting them for human survival.
Dr. B. S. Jaiprakash, Former President, Rotary South Bangalore demonstrated the purification of polluted water through water filter donated by a US Company to use this Gadget which is useful in slum areas and Government Schools. Dr. Ivey Christopher, Medical Councilor, Bangalore released the Eco Badges along with Dr. Meera Bhupathi, Mother of Mahesh Bhupathi, Great Tennis Player of India, Dr. D.S.N. Prasad, I.R.S. (Retd. Income Tax Commissioner) delivered the presiding officers remarks. He also mentioned that the younger generation should take initiative in protecting the Greenery for their survival and to live a healthy life.
Dr. M. Antony Isaac, General Secretary YMCA Bangalore thanked the Principal, Staff and students of the School for bringing the Environment issues through their Eco song, Skit and dance which was very meaningful of the occasion.

On Wednesday, 29th June 2016 at 7.00 p.m. the felicitation function was held to the Padma Shri Awardee Dr. T. John Ebnazar at YMCA International Programme Centre, Nrupathunga Road, Bangalore.
Opening prayer was rendered by the Chief Guest Shri. S. R. Manohar, Pastor, Rays of Love Church, Bangalore, and Invocation was by the YMCA College of Physical Education students. Mr. Arun Kumar Karodi, Assistant General Secretary, YMCA Welcomed the gathering Dr. B. S. Jayaprakash President, Rotary Bangalore South introduced Dr. T. Ebnazar, The YMCA Bangalore , Rotary Club South & Lions Club, Vidyaranyapura felicitated the awardee with PETAH, SHAWL, GARLAND AND A CITATION. Mr. Elisha Andrews, Under Secretary to Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, Dr. M. Antony Isaac, General Secretary Designate, YMCA and Mr. Satish, Secretary, Rotary Bangalore South and Rev. Nanda Kumar, Wilson Garden Methodist Church Bangalore graced the occasion.
The YMCA Bangalore expresses its heartfelt thanks to Sensai. Praveen Ranka, Chairman, Martial Arts Trust, Bangalore for Donating 35 School Bags, Mr. Abhay Deshponde, Proprietor, Mandhakini Enterprises, Mission Road, Bangalore donated 35 pairs Venus Black Shoes for the Street School going boys and Mr. Praveen, President Paper Mart Association, Sultanpet Bangalore donated 500 Long and Short Note Books.
The YMCA Youth Issues wing has started Model Parliament Training Centre at Shri. Jegathguru Renukacharya Law College, Ananda Rao Circle Bangalore on 10th October 2016. Mr. Harish. N. Advocate, YMCA Member and Trainer of Model Lok Sabha for nearly two decades inaugurated the training centre and assured the students that he will be guiding and imparting the appropriate skill and knowledge in implementing the parliamentary procedures to the students. Nearly 150 Law College students were benefited by this centre.
32nd Sir. C. V. Raman Memorial Inter Collegiate English Debate & Prof. T. Reuben Memorial Inter Collegiate Kannada Debate Competitions were conducted on Saturday, the 25th February 2017 between 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in association with Rotary Bangalore Peenya, Lions Club, Gokul / Orchrds at YMCA Mini A/C Hall, Dr. L. Hanumanthaiah, Chairman, Kannada Abirudhi Pradikara was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the competition in his inaugural speech he appealed to the students that they should understand the gravity of the social issues that is emerging rampantly, specially women issues, molestation, child abuse, dowry harassment and rape cases and the youth must come forward and find solutions
32nd For the English Debate from 15 Colleges 30 students participated and spoke on the topic "Are Women really safe in Independent India? " and for Kannada Debate from 8 Colleges 16 participants (total 46 students) took part actively and spoke on the topic: " Amanakaranadinda Brastaachara Nirmulanae Sadyavae" in this Prestigious Debate Competition.
In the evening at 4.00 p.m the Valedictory function was held, at this function Rtn. Abhishek Ranjan, District - Youth Services was the Chief Guest and distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions. In the august presence of Rtn. Suresh, Member of Rotary Bangalore Peenya the certificates and the cash prizes were distributed to the winners of the competition, and the competition was concluded with a high tea.

Hon'ble Shri. Koliwad, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Govt. of Karnataka Bangalore was the Chief Guest and Flagged off the World Water Day awareness vehicle Smt. Vijayalakshmi Prakash, Zilla Panchayat Member, Karnataka unveiled the Portray of "Save Water", released the "Save Water Bages" depicting on the Theme: "Harvest the rain, reap the gains" Ln. H.K. Giridhar, mjf, 1st Wise Dist. Governor, District - 317F. Rtn. Suresh, Member, Rotary, Bangalore. Peenya and Ln. Bernard Chetty, President, Lions Club LCD Bangalore Shikshana were the Guests of Honour & Ln. N. Yudhistira, pmjf District Chairperson LCIF Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru, Task Group Members and YMCA Secretarial Staff graced the occasion.
